Interactive Television for the Mass Audience

The world of television broadcasting is changing at an alarming rate.  Attracting and retaining viewers is becoming increasingly challenging in a world of media fragmentation and digital media evolution.  The mobile channel has presented broadcasters with an innovative, interactive new platform that will help to change the television landscape.  The introduction of creative interactive elements that engage viewers and enhance entertainment value is driving the solution. MyThum's view is not about bringing traditional linear television to the mobile device, but about using the mobile device to engage viewing audiences within their favorite television programming or within the creation of newer and more innovative programming.

The first step for a broadcaster is typically introducing contests or voting into an existing scripted or reality based show accessed from the viewers' mobile device, similar to what you may have seen with Deal or no Deal, Big Brother or American Idol.  More sophisticated solutions have evolved quite rapidly including live text to screen (where a viewer can send an SMS text message to the broadcaster and see it on the television screen in near real time), automated mobile games presented on screen, and even entire programs or channels controlled by viewers via their mobile device. As mobile adoption explodes, many producers of programming are embracing this new interactive potential.

MyThum continues to dominate the interactive television market in Canada, and is building strong momentum in the United States.  If you are looking to create new revenue streams, enhance entertainment value, attract new viewers, and create greater loyalty among your viewers, then this session is for you.

Speaker: Michael Carter, President & CEO, MyThum Interactive Inc

VRM - Video Relationship Management

Customer relationship management takes on a whole new meaning when online video and the tools associated with it are utilized. User generated video, user initiated video syndication, video search optimization, video RSS, vodcasting, vlogs, video mash-ups, broadband mobile video, broadband-to-set-top video - these emerging technologies mean different things to different people, and not just more ways to sell ads. From product training and online PR, to highly personal customer relationships, online video is carving out some very new terrain.

This presentation will take a look at how some of the biggest brands in the world, like Wal-Mart, GM, Intel and even the U.S. State Department are building relationships with their ecosystems using the power of online video.

Speaker: Matt DeLoca, Vice President of Sales, The FeedRoom
